  • Who can enter? Groups or Individuals with great evidence of the paranormal.
  • How do I enter?
  • Check out the RULES
  • Gather up your best piece of audio, video or photographic evidence
  • Print out the ENTRY FORM and fill out completely.
  • Transfer your evidence onto a CD/DVD
  • Mail the form and the disc to:

  • How many times can I enter? ONLY 1 ENTRY PER CATEGORY.

  • What happens next?
  • Your evidence is reviewed and the top 3 in each category are selected.
  • If you are one of the top 3 selected, you will be contacted prior to ScareFest The top 3 in each category will be invited to attend ScareFest and present their evidence to the judges.
  • A panel of highly qualified and experienced paranormal judges scores these top submissions.
  • A winner in each category is selected.
  • The top 3 photographic submissions will also be eligible for a Crowd Favorite prize. These submissions will be voted on by ScareFest attendees.
  • The winners will be announced on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at ScareFest.
  • Do I have to be present to win? Yes, you must be present to win. If you are chosen as one of the top 3 in a category, you will be contacted prior to ScareFest and invited to attend and discuss your evidence with the judges.
  • What can I win? The Ghost Hunter Shop in Lexington, KY is providing paranormal-

related prizes.

CONTEST RULES

 

By submitting an entry into the ScareFest Paranormal Evidence Contest, you agree to abide by the following rules:

 

  • Upon submission of your entry, you confirm that you are either the sole owner of the content or that you have received proper permissions from the owner of the submitted material. Furthermore, you accept full legal responsibility for any legal issues that may arise due to your own copyright infringement.
  • All photographic evidence must be submitted in either JPG or GIF format.
  • EVP (audio) entries are to be submitted in either WAV or MP3 format. You must trim all unnecessary audio from the beginning and end so that only the EVP segment can be heard.
  • All EVP entries will be evaluated with voice recognition software to detect any human interference.
  • Video clips must contain paranormal evidence only. All unnecessary video footage must be edited out at the beginning and end of the clip so that only the evidence footage is included.
  • All evidence must be submitted on CD to the mailing address provided.
  • Each piece of evidence must be submitted with a separate Contest Entry Form, found on this website.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO E-MAIL SUBMISSIONS. Any evidence submitted via e-mail will not be reviewed and will be excluded from the competition.
  • You may enter only one piece of evidence in each of the categories (i.e. one photo, one video and one EVP).
  • Evidence that has been deliberately faked and submitted for the purpose of deception will be disqualified and excluded from the contest.
  • All entries will be evaluated and the top 3 in each category will be selected for final judging. A panel of highly experienced and qualified judges from the paranormal community will evaluate these top submissions.
  • The judges will score evidence based on the following:
  • Originality – How original is the evidence? An orb vs. a full-body apparition?
  • Authenticity – How convincing is the evidence? Would it be easy to re-create/fake?
  • Clarity – Is the “evidence” easily seen/heard?
  • The top 3 entrants in each category will be contacted prior to ScareFest. They will be invited to attend ScareFest and present their evidence to the judges during a Special Event at the convention.
  • There will be one top winner in each class.
  • The winners will be announced at ScareFest on Sunday, September 14, 2008. Prizes will be awarded to the top submission in each category and the Crowd Favorite.
  • WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • ALL ENTRIES DUE BY AUGUST 30, 2008. NO EXCEPTIONS.
